Attribute placeholders
When you have to modify some attributes by using the same values repeatedly, at some point you will definitely begin to think how to automate that. Userbooster provides a ready-to-use solution that is called "attribute placeholders" (see Figure 1). In the typical scenario of using placeholders, you open the Placeholders page in the Settings dialog and add one or more placeholders with its names, values and optional descriptions. Each placeholder name is surrounded by percent signs (%) to indicate that it is a placeholder. You can then use such placeholders anywhere when you need to set attribute values (see Figure 2 and Figure 3).
You can also use any attributes as placelholders. For example, you can use <%sn%>, <%givenName%> for the displayName attribute.
When you send modified objects back to the directory service, all placeholders are replaced with their actual values. So the only purpose of placeholders is to boost your performance when you have to use the same attribute values over and over again or you want to quickly modify attributes for a larger number of objects at once.
