OpenLDAP Software engine
The OpenLDAP Software is a well-known open source implementation of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol developed by the OpenLDAP Project. It provides not only a directory service implementation for Linux, Microsoft Windows and a number of other platforms, but also includes client tools for querying and modifying objects. Because major enterprise directories such as Active Directory and eDirectory support LDAP interfaces, OpenLDAP client tools can be used to connect to LDAP servers provided by Microsoft, Novell and other software manufacturers.
Userbooster uses the OpenLDAP libldap API for communicating with LDAP servers. This library is reliable and secure and supports LDAP functionality over TCP, SSL, or IPC.
