Which versions of LDAP does the software support?
The software supports LDAP versions 1, 2 and 3.
Can an SSL connection be used to establish the connection?
Yes, the product supports all options given by the project OpenSSL.
Does the software support additional options like the creation of DFS pointers or directories in the file system, modifying the NTFS rights or creates the mailbox for the user object?
Yes, the export options can be modified accrording to the desired settings in the environment.
The following options are available:
- Creation of home directory
- Creation of profile directory
- Modifying of NTFS rights
- Creation of mailbox
- Support of custom settings based on predefined name conventions (e.g. first letter of given name and complete last name)
Can users be exported from other Microsoft* domains that do not have an LDAP interface?
Yes, the common API-interface is used reading information from a given domain.
Is the login information saved in clear text?
No, even the complete configuration file can be saved in encrypted format.
Are all changes to the directory service reported?
Yes, the software supports output to a printer or export to a CSV file. Furthermore you can send an event through a SMS-gateway to your mobile phone.
Are already existing user accounts taken into account in the event of multiple import attempts?
Yes, the software automatically decides which LDAP operation (add or modify) is the right one for the current export/import process.
Can already existing mailboxes be modified?
Yes, already existing mailboxes can be edited via different options inside the software product. This also applies to all other directory objects. Also you can easily visualize any attribute of an object through the XSLT / XML architecture. This is very useful for reporting some data size values are saved in the directory service without any additional tools nearly to real time.
Is it possible to create/duplicate a complete organization structure?
Yes, the product supports reading any kind of object attribute (including binary values). There is also in option to create the depending objects on the fly. That means, you can a complete production area duplicate in a test environment. Even a cross copying scenario (Microsoft <-> Novell) is a possible alternative using a predefined schema definition file.
