    Profile Wizard

The profiles form basic requirements in order to administer data in a directory service. The profiles are needed repeatedly after creation for different tasks. The administration and generation of this configuration is supported by several convenient assistants. These include:

    Creating profiles

A profile defines all information in order to establish a connection with a directory service. All parameters can be subsequently modified or extended.

    Administering existing profiles

All profiles are listed in a hierarchical tree structure according to manufacturer, and can be subsequently modified to the relevant framework parameters.

    Favorites administration

For rapid access, profiles are summarised in a separate window by means of ‘Drag and Drop’.

    The filter dialogue

The filter dialogue supports the user in the compilation of even the most complex definitions. This dialogue can also be started separately as a component of the Profile Assistant direct via the context menu in the LDAP Explorer, in order to define new enquiries.

    The Export Assistant

The Export Assistant represents a further form of profile configuration. In addition to the usual login parameters, additional configurations are also requested in order to create home or profile directories, to set NTFS rights, produce DFS indicators or to set up mailboxes for the corresponding objects. The specifics of the relevant manufacturers are taken into account.

    The Attribute Assistant

The Attribute Assistant offers the facility of summarising a certain number of attributes into one category. The representation of the exports in a dynamic web layout is also specified.

All profiles are saved in the file UB.XML. The file location can be defined in the settings. The transfer of this file enables the easy transfer of the configuration to other PC workstations.
