    Introduction

The web monitor offers a further excellent opportunity for displaying and evaluating key figures of the infrastructure in graphic and tabular form. There are currently four different evaluation options offered.

    • Tabular and graphic display of the users with filter and sorting options

    • Drilldown overview of the exchange organisation in graphic overview

    • Classification of the directory service for the object types used

The determination of the data is carried out by the use of start parameters of the application. All data sources are first saved as an XML file in the file system. This data is then converted by corresponding transform operations (XSLT) into an optimum processing format. Due to the efficient data storage, even several tens of thousands of objects can be evaluated in a few seconds. All security criteria are also supported in the compilation of the key figures. The determination of the complete exchange organisation for example is realised by means of the existing Kerberos authentication of the operating system. No login information is required for the determination of the key figures.

The integration of these views into an existing Internet portal is quite simple. The Webmon folder contains the directories Client and Server. The Client directory supports the tabular evaluation direct at the workstation, without the existence of a web-server. In this case however, only the tabular representation of the user objects is supported. The Server directory contains the anyCPU folder.

This folder is copied to the IIS (Version 5.5 or higher) into a local directory. It should be noted that for fault-free function, .Net Runtime 2.0 must be installed. A virtual directory with the following properties is then created with the Internet Information Services programme:

The Data folder contains the XML files required for the representation. Configuration options are also stored in this directory. The user therefore requires ASPNET write authorisations to this folder. Both the 32 Bit and the 64 Bit versions are supported.
