Within the Settings dialogue, all attributes of the relevant manufacturer are administered by a so-called LDAP Schematic. In a forthcoming update of this version, this administration will be facilitated by an Import Assistant Schematic. The extension of the LDAP Schematic will also be supported in future by the corresponding Export-Assistant. All attributes are provided with general properties, which are used in the corresponding work steps (export, import, report, etc.). The properties are also used amongst other things for the display of the attributes in the Detail area view.
Properties of an attribute:
- Attribute name
The classical name of the attribute according to the schematic definition is defined in this field.
- Description
Optionally, a brief description of the attribute can be defined for better understanding.
- Data type
The data type of the relevant attribute is defined here. All attributes however are interpreted as a string or binary expression during the export into the directory service.
- Control type
In the Detail area view, for purposes of data entry support, the definition of the control used in the properties window is specified in this field.
- LDAP type
The attributes depend on the corresponding schematic definition. Names and properties of attributes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. The membership of one manufacturer is defined in this field.
- Flag
In addition to the basic property (read, write), the view in the list display and the general accounting during export/import are defined.
- Object classes
Every attribute belongs to one or more classes. This relationship is also used for example in the creation of complex filter structures.
- Standard value
A standard value ensures that no explicit manual entry is necessary when using this attribute.
All data are defined centrally in the file <Applikationsverzeichnis>\UB.XML, and can also be edited outside the application with any XML editor.
The attribute can be taken into account dynamically during an import/export procedure direct in the Detail area view in the context menu. Modified attributes which are not designated by the necessary import/export flag are also highlighted in colour.
